The eminent Polish violist Wieslaw Rekucki settled in Spain in 1985 and became one of its most influential strings teachers.

A former principal in the Polish Radio Orchestra and Teatro San Carlo orchestra in Naples, he joined the Oviedo Conservatory in 1988 and was an instructor with the Spanish Youth Orchestra and the International School of Music of the Prince of Asturias Foundation.

Wieslaw suffered a fatal heart attack.
