The SZ has an entertaining account by Renata Meinhof of a never-ending announcement of Covid cast changes in Berlin’s Ariadne auf Naxos.

The conductor was also a replacement. Not much room left for a review.

    Können Operndirektoren eigentlich nur Opernhäuser dirigieren oder auch mal das Orchester?
    I would not put the Hasan in front of the orchestra!

      Was ist der Unterschied zwischen einem Stier und einem Orchester? Der Stier hat die Hörner vorne und das Arschloch hinten.

    Not bad, but Toulouse’s recent Carmen tops it: eight performances in ten days with sometimes up to seven replacements on stage, bussed or flown in from all over France including even a certain Michael Fabiano hauled over from Florida. Some singers only managed to arrive about an hour before curtain up. Every performance was sold out. Omicron, the runny nose variant, kept everyone on their toes that week.
