A young fellow called Tarmo Peltokoski has been named principal guest conductor of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie, an outpost of Paavo Järvi’s in Bremen.

He made his debut with the Finnish RSO in October 2020 and has since conducted the hr-Sinfonieorchester in Frankfurt, the Latvian NSO and the Basle Chamber Orchestra. He has global management with Dorn Music in Germany.

Peltokoski has been studying with Jorma Panula since he was 14, followed by stints with Sakari Oramo, Hannu Lintu and Jukka-Pekka Saraste. The Sibelius Academy factory is still churning them out.

Any day now, he’ll start growing a beard.
