Metropolitan Opera’s lawyer dies, 75
RIPThe Proskauer law-firm partner who represented the Met in its sacking of James Levine and was later instrumental in negotiating a $3.5 million setllement has died in hospital of leukaemia, the NY Times reports.
Bettina Plevan was the first woman to be a litigation partner at Proskauer and was regarded as a pioneer in women’s rights in the legal profession. She invariably represented the employer.
