I love this work, and a good number of Janacek’s other works as well. He’s one of my favorite composers.
Their recording (issued by EMI) is very good, highly recommended.
He was what we now call a “sex pest.”
Just extraordinary. Thank you for presenting it. The mixture of
art forms makes Janacek’s music sound even more modern. It’s yet another level of
creation, brought to the story,
with Bostridge perfectly giving body and voice to Janacek’s
poetry. Bravo, bravi.
