This is seriously weird but, obviously, this very important Swedish theatre deemed it significant enough to devote enormous resources to it. In truth, I couldn’t make head nor tail of it but I watched it, mesmerised, from end to end.
It’s a chance to enjoy one of those rare pieces that most people will never have a chance to see live. Sort of an opera, sort of a dance piece, sort of a drama, it was recorded on the massive revolving stage at the Malmö Opera. Everything about this piece is surreal and spectacular. It’s set to the album GO by Icelandic musician Jónsi, and, in my view, Jonsi has a good deal to answer for.
