APENFT Foundation has decided to appoint Barrett Wissman as its Chief Investment Advisor.
The Foundation is a premier organization for top-tier NFTs, and it is confident that Chief Investment Advisor Wissman will take the group to the next phase of its development.
As a platform that connects numerous aspects of the traditional and digital art world, APENFT is well placed to grow with the NFT market.
According to a press release,
“APENFT’s mission is to register world-class artworks as NFTs on the blockchain and build the art world’s most respected and diversified NFT collection to serve as a bridge between traditional and native crypto artists and the blockchain.”
To be sure, Wissman will be operating in a popular new market that is attracting attention from many artists, as well as public personalities that can easily use NFTs to interact with their fans.
APENFT’s curator and art director, Sydney Xiong, commented,

Wissman is the Chairman at IMG Artists, where he is also a principal. IMG Artists is a global arts management and advisory company that works with some of the world’s top artists..

‘Owner’ is a stretch. The other IMGA ‘principal,’ Shustorovich, peacocks around as if he owns everyone represented by and working at that company.

What is Wissman up to? Not looking after IMG Artists, that’s for sure. Look up the Festivals and Events page on its website. After announcing on its home page that “IMG Artists is a global leader in . . . Festivals and Events management” take a look at that particular page. “IMG Artists is the first to create the concept of the lifestyle Festival.” Apart from this being totally untrue, a look at all the Festivals on the website lists only 8. The problem is they all died a decade or more ago!
Next comes Events – “some of the world’s leading cultural and entertainment events.” 24 of them in fact. Once again though these all took place many years ago. The “Launch of Singapore Airlines Direct Flight to New York” was in March 2004! Many of the others are merely a list of one-off events that also took place years ago. The fact is there are now no Festivals and no Events!
As for its list of artists, it is also out of date. Dame Kiri Te Kanawa is listed. The diva retired some time ago and is now living in retirement in New Zealand!
Time the Chairman bothered to look at the website and get it up to date.
an interesting prospect. I like to visit Google Arts every now and then, also as using those 3D glasses and other gimmicks when it comes to visual and audial arts . nothing can be compared to a real human voice in a concert hall nevertheless all those things are worth using ….
NEW YORK, Sept 28 (Reuters) – Barrett Wissman, co-chair of IMG Artists, will serve no jail time for his role in a sweeping case of securities fraud in which investment firms paid kickbacks to manage assets of the New York state pension fund.
Wissman, former managing director of Dallas-based hedge fund HFV Management (also known as Hunt Financial Ventures), was sentenced Friday. He pleaded guilty in 2009.
“Because of my actions and the actions of others,” Wissman said in New York state court at his sentencing, “investment managers were hired not for their skills and their abilities … but because they were well-connected.”
