French competition collapses as artistic directors quit
NewsThe long-standing Long-Thibaud-Crespin Competition, founded in 1943 by a famed pianist, violinist and singer, has called off next year’s event after its board of directors disintegrated.
Those resigning are the La Scala director Dominique Meyer, the violinist Renaud Capucon and the pianist Bertrand Chamayou.
They reportedly quit at the start of the year but no successors have been named and the competition’s future looks uncertain.
