Balanchine ballerina dies, 93
RIPThe death has been announced of Patricia Wilde, star of New York City Ballet in the 1950s and 1960. She was in recovery after suffering a stroke.
A farm-reared Canadian, she caught Balanchine’s eye at City Ballet and he created 18 roles for her, including the Highland Girl in Scotch Symphony, the Pas de Trois in Swan Lake, and Glinka Pas de Trois, Square Dance, Waltz-Scherzo, Native Dancers, and Raymonda Variations.
