Sadness: Joyce Kennedy has died
NewsThe Royal Northern College of Music has announced the death of Dr Joyce Kennedy, widow of the music critic Michael Kennedy and collaborator on many of his works. Joyce was also a Manchester physician and anaesthetist and a valued member of varied communities.
She was 88, rest her soul.

That is sad news indeed as Dr Joyce and husband Michael were distinguished, enthusiastic and such knowledgeable supporters of college events . Dr Joyce Kennedy will be greatly missed.
It is only about a month since the college lost a former RNCM tutor and alumna of the old Royal Manchester College, the soprano Honour Sheppard. John Turner has written a tribute to her online with some words from Mark Deller at the British Music Society.
I have fond memories to have spent many times in the company of Joyce and Michael at Halle concerts..The last time I shared her company was last year at a Conductors final in Manchester..a lovely lady, whom I am sure will be missed by many especially those who met, and knew her through the Halle, RNCM and many other musical institutions around the country..a well loved lady, who will be sadly missed by many.
