Milva, RIP
RIPThe phenomenal Italian singer Milva, whose range extended from San Remo pop to Berio modernism, has died at 81.
I remember her best in an Almeida concert of songs by Weill and Eisler, her UK debut in the 1980s.
She also worked with Piazzolla, Theodorakis and other composers with a popular touch.
Milva was just fantastic! I am so sorry to hear of her passing.
Addio, cara signora Milva.
I too remember her Weill especially – not least on that otherwise strange set of the Dreigroschenoper with Dernesch, Kollo et al., where she pretty much steals the show. RIP.
Brava Milva.
“Adios Muchacha…”
Jessica Rabbit?…
She was as also Morricone’s muse. Marvellous artist.
my prayers, hope many of those who appreciated her talent have already done that ….
Great italian singer maybe in the shadow sometimes or less popular than Iva Zanicchi, Ornella Vanoni and of course Mina.
What a great loss!!!!!
RIP, cara Milva.
Your music has accompanied me my whole life and will continue to do so. Happy memories, tinged with sadness thinking of loved ones long gone before you. Grazie.
