Death of US composer, 67
mainThe composer and pianist Andrew Violette has died of a long-lasting cancer.
A student of the modernists Elliott Carter, Roger Sessions and Otto Luening, he looked to Bach as his supreme comfort. His orchestral works include (Dawn (1988); Fanfare (1992) and Music In 6 Parts (2000).
