La Scala demands vaccination for all artistsmain
Following last week’s limited Covid outbreak in the ballet, La Scala’s sovrintendente Dominique Meyer today issued an appeal to the Italian government to have performers at all Italian theatres rapidly vaccinated.
Making an ‘appeal not only for La Scala but for all opera, concert halls and theatres,’ he demands inoculation for ‘all artists who cannot wear masks, such as singers, choristers, actors, hornists, dancers.’
Italy has, as of today, so far dispensed only 5.6 million vaccinations.
La Scala has resumed rehearsals for its suspended Kurt Weill shows.
