French singers gather for melancholy anniversary
mainQuite a few opera singers took part in Thursday’s demonstrations in France, marking a year since the closure of the arts under Covid.
Among them, soprano Julie Fuchs issued this statement: ‘I am here because I believe that it is my duty to support my community of artists. am an opera singer but there are a lot of professions linked to ours, and I am especially here to bring my presence to young singers who are just starting out in the profession, who have just finished their studies, and for whom what is happening is a disaster. We really want to work.’
