Unfair comment. Maybe you have never attended an opera at the “Opéra de Wallonie” in Liège. Speranza Scapucci is an enthusiastic and competent conductor and Stefano Mazzonis di Pralafera was a marvelous and highly appreciated and regretted director. The pair produced marvelous productions, with good singers and sumptuous sceneries and costumes, which is not so common nowadays.
I was always travelling to see them and it was well worth the trip.
