Richard Pite informs us:

Keith Nichols passed away this morning. Keith had gone into London Hospital last Friday with problems relating to a much delayed prostate operation. Whilst in hospital he fell ill with Covid. His wife Eve asked me to let everyone know.

Keith was a well-known specialist in older jazz piano styles, such as Scott Joplin, James P. Johnson, Fats Waller and Duke Ellington.

He lectured on jazz history at the Royal Academy and Trinity College of Music.
