mainJulia Noulin-Merat, 39, has been named General Director and CEO of Opera Columbus after an international search.
She has been working lately with Boston Lyric Opera.

Why was the search international for a regional opera company? Surely we have enough talent in this huge country. With unemployment so severe, it is unethical to hire a foreigner for one of our key arts jobs.

Hopefully we won’t have to listen to Renee Fleming squeaking and whining like she is in the bathroom trying to get it out, holding it in to such a degree that with the explosive inhalations she roams around dizzy with the rest of the phrase having the same condition that killed Mario Lanza, given what it does to the blood.
