Germany plans first full-orchestra concert next week
mainThe city of Konstanz is claiming bragging rights for the first full-on concert since Covid.
It has been drummed up by the soprano Gabriela Scherer and her husband Michael Volle, with Barbara Frittoli and Massimo Giordano as Italian guest stars and the full orchestra of Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie on Saturday August 1.
The venue is the Bodensee football ground.
Toi-toi!
Um, Norman… Christian Thielemann (ITMA) conducted the Dresden Staatskapelle in a Beethoven concert on 11th July. The programme was Coriolan, and the 1st and 2nd symphonies.
“The programme was Coriolan”
You mean Corona.
But that’s just “chamber music” !
The bosch society can go on the razzle with Rasilainen the following evening.
Hope they have enough toi-tois on the premises.

And the Dresden concert was indoors, at the Semperoper, not at a ‘football ground’.
Probably you forgot about Mahler Conducting Competition, which had more than a full orchestra, public in the hall and tremendous results. Such as having a first prize winner who can’t conduct.
