It’s a measly $10 million. Many deep pocketed individuals still around who could write a check that size. I’m not arguing for a greater cut but it’s a drop in the bucket if that city is looking to cut costs. Probably a cut so that every line item would have a cut.
That doesn’t mean anyone will write a check.
With less programming during lockdown might not be as damaging. I hear the MET will be streaming an “at home” gala this Saturday. I imagine artist fees are in kind.
