MEXICO CITY, January 4 (EL UNIVERSAL) – Young people with scholarships from the OperaStudio Beckmann will receive classes of the spaniard Placido Domingo, on February 19, said tenor Benito RodrÃguez, the studio’s director.
He added that in addition to the studio’s activities, they are working on a project to build a theater and conservatory that will be named after Placido Domingo. Last year, the singer was accused of sexual harassment.
“We are in the process of starting the Placido Domingo Theater in the city of Tequila, and we will have it for different cultural events, such as opera, dance and theater.
Rodriguez said that the conservatory will be next to the theater. “We plan to have this project ready in two or three years. The theater will have a capacity for about 900 people.

Tequila is in the state of Jalisco, a major center for drug the cartels and their atrocities including massacres. Wonder who’s paying for this new theater in impoverished Mexico. Another fine place for Domingo to find support.
Not sure “Domingo shaming” [sic] has changed anything, but victim shaming is a time honored tradition of degrading women and keeping them oppressed.
And gosh, how can we assume Domingo did anything wrong when there were only twenty women who reported abuse? Viva Jalisco.
How do you know for sure that he did anything wrong? Only two are know by name, of which one (who calls him “God”!)said that he never touched her, the other he did, but what is denied by a witness present in the same room – the other ones are anonymus, so we don’t know for sure that they exist!
The media does not name the victims of sexual assault and abuse if they choose to remain anonymous. All claims, however, are carefully vetted, especially by an internationally respected news agency like the Associated Press which is a trusted source that provides news to all of the world’s major papers. (To belabor the obvious.)
We only need to see how the two named women were savaged and defamed here on SD by anonymous, misogynistic cowards to see why the media does not name the victims of sexual offences.
There is no any proof of Wulf/ Wilson statement. And there is no any proof that anonymous persosns are exist.
Patricia Wulf promoted her LinkedIn profile with Domingo name.
Amgela Turner Wilson promote her artistic profile with Domingo name.
These both opera losers Wulf-Wilson are lisers, and thats why the havnt come to police or court. They just post that bull shit in Internet.
anon…
Of course. Like all those fictitious “victims”
from the corrupt AP.
Please cite just one instance of AP “corruption.”
The “Domingo case”. This is an obvious order.
The “Domingo case”. Obviously that this is an order.
It seems Domingo, Gatti and Grigolo ( a singer I do not particularly admire by the way) were all treated harshly. Less so in the case of Dutoit & Levine.
Actually, I think Levine got treated worse than anyone–can’t imagine why…..
It’s the feeling I have. But I have doubts Gatti was completly innoncent. The reality anyway was that he was not popular in a big part of the orchestra RCO like Jansons and Chailly before him.
Levine got what he so richly deserved. Good riddance if you ask me. He was at the Met for far too long anyway. I am just glad they finally got rid of him and his dreadful, mediocre conducting.
Congratulations Maestro Domingo. Well deserved!
Mexico rhymes with Machismo.
Good thing there’s a wall.
Do yourself a favor and purchase a rhyming dictionary (or learn how to pronounce words). It won’t improve your humor, but you will save face.
Congratulations, Maestro Domingo! whatever the evil @ metoo witches do against you, the world knows and appreciates your contribution to art..And laughing at these schizophrenics..God bless you..and we love and appreciate you.
Good for them!!
And the answer to the ever – NAUGHT or KNOT redacted – evasive question, pertaining to what came first out of something it might have, whether it was the egg or the chicken, it really was neither, not was it Roger Federer, because it was the nest.
BRAVO Maestro Domingo!
All countries, there people are smart and respect music and opera, support Placido Domingo – Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Japan. Endless standing ovations in every country!
And only in US people believe false statements of 2 opera losers Wulf-Wilson and corrupted media. What a shame!
You can add France.
