Biz news: Cami’s worst nightmare is back
mainThe former Columbia boss Doug Sheldon is being seen a lot once more around New York’s high and holy places – here at at Geffen Hall’s Lunar Year celebration with Juilliard pianist-pusher Veda Kaplinsky.
Sheldon quit Columbia in a bust-up last April, no reason given, no comment since.
We understand that the deal stitched up by lawyers puts him on gardening leave until summer 2020.
Which is soon.
He has just put up a new website and we hear he has five artists in mind.
Doug Sheldon used to be Anne-Sophie Mutter’s sole representative on American earth.
Watch this space.
“VK, Juilliard’s pianist-pusher”?? Pejorative, derogatory?? Hey, Norman – do you know Veda?
Last week Douglas Sheldon has published a picture with other younger generation piano-teacher-star, who produced numerous famous prize winners lately.
Who is that?
Somebody connected to Kaplinsky?
Good news. Douglas is missed in this industry.
Agreed. His passion for and knowledge of the business is enormous and infectious. Comparatively, the folks remaining at CAMI could be selling used cars.
Of course he would return to the business. What did CAMI expect?
One of the best and most respected managers in the history of this business!
A little too handsy for my taste
Why is this interesting?
That website has been up since time immemorial
If there was corruption at CAMI, it started long before Sheldon’s involvement.
Uh, he was there 53 years, sooooo
The website’s quite old as someone else pointed out. Wonder who’s bankrolling this new venture by a soon to be octogenarian, and if Doug is self-funding, then the adage about fools and their money is doubly true.
