Johannes Lamotke, principal horn of the Komische Oper Berlin, has won the audition for 3rd horn in the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
Lamotke, 34, has come up through the ranks via Kassel and Bremen.

Yeyy!! Congrats Mr Lamotke! Now they have fill new 2nd/low horn and principal horn. And they still have 2 gaps in trumpet section which also have to fill

Exactly! People always ask the same question. In Europe many orchestras have 2 or sometimes even 3 principals in string and wind sections. The other vacant principal post is originally Radek Baborak’s old post which has been vacant for almost 10 years
