I’m afraid that Kaufmann’s frequent cancellations suggest he has a somewhat poor technique that’s limitng his vocal resilience (or extremely back luck with his health). Caution is advised to any potential students.
What a nosense. He is in best shape. All know, that he had a sort of accident and in July a cold (I myself had a cold last week….)
“Kaufmann s way” is rather a bad way. This doesn t diminish his past greatness though. He can inspire people to look for and to find their own voice in one way or another, but I doubt that he can “teach” them how to do it in the strict sense of the term.
You would not mention such nonsense, if You had listened to his comments on the teaching videos: there are many good ideas, but the necessary individual coaching must be done by others.
Opera is a bit harder? If you will forgive a rather crude Americanism, no shit Sherlock!
Nicht Herr Kaufmann verkauft die Videos, sondern sie gehören zu dem Coachingprojekt „Meet Your Master“ des Ehepaares Lauterbach. Dazu gehören noch die Projekte „Filmproduktion“, „Schauspiel“ „Kochen“, „Schreiben“ oder „Filmemachen“. Und dort kann man die entsprechenden Videos kaufen.
Fast 9 Stunden von Kaufmann, 89 €.

What an ass! Is he broke? Pavarotti never would have participated in anything like that. But then Kaufmann is German.
Let’s not be too sentimental about the dead. Pavarotti did much more embarrassing and unseemly things than this to fill his coffers, and the attempts he made at master classes showed someone who, however great an instinctive singer he may have been in his prime, was not an effective communicator.
In USA very proninent persons do the same, staring with Jody Forster and Anna Wintour and many more……
Jonas Kaufmann is scheduled to sing Tristan Act III with the Boston Symphony in the coming spring (April 9 and 11, 2020). I keep fingers crossed that he won’t die before Tristan does.
It’s quite strange, how singing is supposed to be taught online…a total BS..
Of course singing as all other jobs can be prepared by such a video (9 hours!) and must be trained later on individually.
