Just in: Tanglewood to run year-round programs
mainThe Boston Symphony Orchestra has announces Tanglewood’s first-ever year-round schedule of performances and activities to take place on the grounds of the famed music festival, starting in October 2019 and running through June 2020.
You can read the press release here.
As far as I know this is not a BSO activity, but essentially a rental by an organization that has conducted activities for some years, that might be described as lifelong learning, parallel to the BSO events, occupying the same facility when not used by the orchestra. They appear to be expanding their calendar to year-round, undoubtedly an added source of rental income to the orchestra.
Au contraire, Phf655! This is entirely the Boston Symphony Orchestra, through its Tanglewood Learning Institute (TLI), which was launched in June 2019. First-ever program by TLI was a String Quartet MasterPass program, June 22-28, 2019, featuring the Juilliard String Quartet and students from the Tanglewood Music Center.
With this inaugural fall/winter/spring season the BSO now runs year-round programming on its campus in the Berkshires. The Linde Center for Music and Learning, TLI’s principal base of operations, is also available for rental for special events, meetings and conferences.
The Linde Center has a teeny-weeny hall.
