Zwickau was her husband’s birthplace.
Clara was from Leipzig.

Is there an orchestra in Leipzig that could rename itself the Robert Schumann Philharmonic?
Probably no irony intended with this change, more likely it’s another mentally feeble attempt at being “woke.”
That name is no longer available. There is a Robert Schumann Philharmonic in Chemnitz, not too far away from Plauen, Zwickau and Leipzig. They’re the resident orchestra at the Chemnitz Opera House and recorded a really excellent Schumann cycle under Frank Beermann a few years ago.

How is it “mentally feeble”? Regardless of what one might think of her compositions (they ain’t bad), Clara Schumann is a major figure in the music of those times. She was clearly central to Robert Schumann’s life, both personally and musically.
