Walter Levin’s widow has died at 96
mainThe death is reported in Chicago of Evi Levin, lifelong companion to the LaSalle Quartet founder and his devoted nurse during years of dementia.
The refugee couple, who spoke German at home, were early mentors in Cincinnati to the young James Levine.
Appreciation here.
Sad to hear. How wonderful that she was such an incredible and loving companion.
Now, in having somehow been totally unaware of Levin’s own death, and of his decline, I find I have some major catching up to do.
May they both RIP.
