Welcome to Death of Classical

We can’t decide whether to applaud New York promoter Andrew Ousley for his latest venture, or sue him for stealing our title.

Death of Classical brings together ‘unexpected concert experiences, reaching new and broader audiences, and giving a voice to underrepresented composers and performers’.

  • Harry Collier says:

Sounds as if das Land ohne Musik should now apply to America, as well as to Britain.

  • Ron says:

Is headline like this that I lost my job selling Classical music. The power that be see the headline and use it as the excuse to close the store, despite the fact that the store made over $200,000 in profit annually.

  • Peter says:

So Norman, are you claiming originality for your title The Life and Death of Classical Music ? While ignoring the rather more famous Colonel Blimp, half a century earlier ?
And copied numerous times subsequently. Presumably also by you.

But Isn’t Death of Classical more likely to be an allusion to performances in a crypt ?

  • Really hope they decide on the “not suing me” one…
