From the biographical entry at his web site:

“López-Ferrer is founder and musical conductor of the Ensemble Vita, made up of students from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory. With this ensemble, he has led several concerts around the Cincinnati area, performing innovative and varied programs from the Baroque period to the XXI century. He is also co-founder of the Queen City Chamber Opera in Cincinnati. As a fervent performer of Contemporary Music, he has premiered works by the American composer Charles Rudig.

First trained as a composer at the University of Cincinnati, he continued his conducting studies with Leonid Grin in Philadelphia as well as at the Zürcher Hochshule der Künste (Switzerland). He studied a Master’s Degree in Orchestral Conducting at the Haute École de Musique in Lausanne, where he studied under the guidance of Professor Aurélien Azan Zielinski. He has also participated in several advanced classes and academies with Neeme Järvi, Paavo Järvi, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Bernard Haitink and Mario Venzago.”

Likely fluent in Spanish, English and French with German as well. Looks good!
