  • Caravaggio says:

I’ll pass, thank you. The mannerisms have become unbearable to hear or stomach.

  • Eric says:

If you want to hear this repertoire sung idiomatically with a properly trained voice then listen to Richard Tauber, or even better, Franz Voelker, rather than this cleverly marketed pretty boy:

…or for intelligence, technique and style – Gedda (who was unigue in his combination of all three assets)!
Yes, marketing – and the sickening thing is the average listerners’ lack of discern, ignorance, and suseptibility to manipulation.
Oh well, “Fake News” now means “alternative facts” – for some, anyway!

  • Lydia says:

Oh his voice has miraculously come back. I hope the disappointed Tosca fans got their money back.

  • Helen Dutton says:

What a load of snide and jealous comments. If you cannot say anything more informative or interesting it would be far better to stay silent. I notice the same names on many occasions posting bitter and nasty comments, not only about Jonas Kaufmann, but otherartists too. You must be very sad people.

    • Ken says:

Or people who can tell the difference. Used to be known as “experienced, educated, knowledgeable and discerning.” It was — and still is — a good thing to aspire to.

    • Martain Smith says:

No – only people who sincerely love and respect music (as opposed to simply marketed, glamorous “stars”…and where the artistry is present, you will undoubtedly find appropriate comments accordingly!

  • Olassus says:

Good that he has a real conductor for a change!

  • Tine says:

Adam Fischer is one of the worst conductors on this planet. No technique at all.
