  • Mario Lutz says:

    Next season announcements direct online:
“This appears to be unprecedented for a state opera house” was the comment on Barenboim’s decision, which will take place on March 25.
Now we have a precedent… ¿banning the press?

  • RW2013 says:

No doubt about EWK’s “return”, but what about Heliane, Kathrin, Violanta?
(And when is Neuenfels finally putting himself out to pasture?)

  • Sixtus says:

The countertenor role in Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra is justly famous.

  • John Rook says:

Did anyone have any doubts? Die Tote Stadt has been done widely and successfully in recent years.

  • Petros Linardos says:

Their 2019-2020 repertoire performances include the wonderful Everding Magic Flute.

    • John Borstlap says:

Interesting life story. But it also reminds us that kitsch is not some ingrediënt applied to the music, but is at the heart of the one who writes it.

  • John Borstlap says:

Crazy idea to give an opera stage to this silly concept artist Abramovic.

Because of the ephemeral nature of this sort of ‘art’, people forget it has already been done in the sixties of the last century. It is not new at all, it is old, and extremely boring and empty as well. It is not for serious people.

She is one of those charlatans without any artistic talent, who don’t create anything artistic, but cleverly play upon the ignorance of audiences, using circulating tropes to give the impression that it is about something what she does. By calling it ‘art’, in this case: ‘performance art’, she escapes any critical parameter. It’s the result of ‘art theory’, a concept born from the dark heart of modernist ideology, to give people with ambition but without artistic talents, for the first time in human history, a chance to get their 15 minutes of fame, and to acquire an income. Shame on you, stupid Müncheners.
