WQXR’s new boss is a violinist
mainNew York City’s classical music station has hired Jacqui Cheng as its first ever Editor-in-Chief, Music.
Jacqui plays violin in the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra, but that’s not why they hired her.
She is a digital data-driver, former Editor-in-Chief of the product review website Wirecutter and, before that, of Ars Technica.
The “boss” of a radio station usually carries the title of “general manager” or something very similar.Do you mean to say that this position is the number one chief administrative position?
No. WQXR already has a general manager. (Shannon Connolly, if you want to know.) This is a newly-created position, and – to judge from the press release (https://www.wqxr.org/press/wqxr/editor-in-chief/) – Editor-in-Chief is what Jacqui Cheng will be.
I would presume that the primary goal will be to improve and expand WQXR’s website.
thank you for clarifying this
