New Previn-Stoppard opera to be premiered by Renee
mainThe Emerson Quartet and Renee Fleming are to give the first performance of Tom Stoppard’s Penelope with a score by Andre Previn.
Described as ‘an opera of sorts’, it will kick of Previn’s 90th birthday bash at Tanglewood next summer.
It will have been forty-two years since EGBDF.
Can’t wait!
I have had the privilege to be at the opening night of “Streetcar” in San Francisco, opera I deeply love and saw a few times live: in SF and London

Hopefully she is not singing. I am still embarrassed at her performance at John McCain’s funeral.
There was nothing wrong with her performance at John McCain’s funeral.
Here’s hoping he finally came up with a masterpiece.
