A tenor sax livewire has died

We are deeply saddened to share that Dr. Fred Hess, Associate Professor of Theory and Composition, passed away on Saturday, October 27th. Fred was beloved by his students and colleagues and will be severely missed. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and the broader musical community whom he inspired, challenged, and enriched so greatly.
He was 74.
