  • In the fall of 2016 I heard the Rhode Island Philharmonic give under Bramwell Tovey’s direction a deeply moving performance of the Mozart Requiem. Sonority, pacing, characterization, all pointed to a synergy between very fine players and singers, and a conductor on top of his game.

  • So it looks like it’s a fairly part-time but probably really good orchestra of Boston-area freelancers/moonlighters. And for Tovey a nice second job conveniently near his Boston/NEC base.
