  • Tarjáni was a wonderful horn player and a master teacher. I had the pleasure of sitting in on some of his classes at the Liszt Academy, as well as translating for him at a masterclass he gave in Sydney, Australia. He was kind enough to invite me to his home when I visited Budapest. He played with a light and delicate sound with just a hint of vibrato. He was a kind and generous man who will be missed by those who had the privilege to know him. My condolences to his family. RIP Feri (tisztelt tanár úr).
