What a shock! He only recently retired and seemed in good health!
May he rest in peace.
What a joy and pleasure it was to have had twelve years with Loren. Always personable, outspoken when needed and a consummate musician. A very sad day.
Loren and I played together for several years at the University of Washington High School Music Institute. Such talent and tenacity. When we visited and, then, lived in the other Washington, it always a joy to hear him.
