Maestro move: It’s Collon de Cologne

The Gürzenich orchestra of Cologne have named Nicholas Collon principal guest conductor, starting September.

The British conductor made his debut there two months ago with Britten and Vaughan Williams.

    When, o when, shall we have an end to publicity photos with musicians doing “artsy” things with their batons and instruments?

      probably when musicians are driven to using kiosks rather than photographers- even then they or their agents will think of ways to make them interesting (with or without inverted commas)
