She’s good.
But known to Washington. She’s terrific.
I saw her Carmen in Berlin’s Deutsche Opera in 2015. Wonderful voice! The MET thing could be a big break for her.

These days, the Met is the last to learn, not deliverer of big breaks. The Met always wants the “name” — to sell tickets. It is a lousy scout.
If I am recalling correctly, Denyce Graves was unknown in London when called upon to replace an ailing Carmen with laryngitis on VERY short notice. of course ti was a triumph for all concerned.
She was always supposed to perform half of the run anyway, I think, and was likely the understudy as well. She is now simply doing the whole run.
