For me the best tenor ever and my all time hero!!!!
Sadly, I never heard him “live” but he is sublime in the HvK recordings of Die Schöpfung and the Missa Solemnis.

Listening to him makes almost every other tenor sound ordinary

On this we agree, Norman. As much as I love Wunderlich–and I have for decades–I always find myself returning to Bjorling. W was a wondrous example of lyric beauty and sublimity while B–to me, anyway–a force of nature.
