Bolshoi mourns principal clarinet

Rafael Baghdasaryan, solo clarinet of the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra of Russia and professor of clarinet at the Moscow Conservatory, has died. He was in his early 80s.

    I never heard him play but I met him in the early 2000s when I worked in Moscow, and heard some of his students, several of whom were exceptional.
