20-something is new music director in Knoxville
mainThe Knoxville Symphony Orchestra has appointed Aram Demirjian to be its next music director, after a year-long trawl of nine candidates.
Demirjian, 29, is currently associate conductor of the Kansas City Symphony.
The Knoxville Symphony is truly one of our fine orchestras. They have had many spectacular music directors, two of whom I have had the pleasure of working with (Kirk Trevor and Lucas Richman). The KSO will indeed thrive and enjoy a bright future with the hiring of Aram, and I wish him and the orchestra many wonderful performances!
