The Prime Minister dropped in at our concert
mainThe French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls, is married to a professional violinist, Anne Gravoin. They go to music.
Last night, they dropped by backstage in the interval of a concert by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France to see the conductor, Mikko Franck.
Not really news.
Now if Cameron turned up at a concert, THAT would be news.
News?! It would be a bloody miracle!
In the US, witnessing a politician at a concert is even more than a bloody miracle.
On occasion, one can spot THREE pols at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco: State Representative Tom Amiano, State Senator Merk Leno, and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, all three of them Democrats.
During his mayoral tenure, now fading into distant memory, Willie Brown brought glamour and exquisite grooming to the Opera Season Opening Gala, immaculately dressed in tails.
Ahhh….
He’s Patron of Bampton Classical Opera. Michael Gove and George Osborne are both regular attendees at the ROH and Longborough.
“He’s Patron of Bampton Classical Opera.”
He’s the local MP, but does he show an active interest?
His name appears all over the place. He is a founding signatory of Unite Against Fascism which, in spite of its laudable title, does not have an enviable reputation.
Cameron doesn’t like music or wild animals. Does one follow on from the other?
