One of our pals in the band says there was anxiety among the players at having to play twice as long as the usual symphony concert. So the admin called in two qualified masseuses to tune up the relevant parts.

Who knows? Perhaps audience massages would crescendo concert attendance. 🙂
Could have used one of those before, or preferably during, a 6-hour Meistersinger I played last fall! I could barely lift my arms after that.
You poor thing. You must have had incredibly slow tempi to arrive at 6 hrs of playing time. Who conducted?
