Plisetskaya’s ashes ‘will be scattered across Russia’
mainBut not quite yet.
There will be a funeral ceremony in Germany, followed by cremation.
Then the ashes of the great ballerina will be kept in the family until the death of her husband, Rodion Shchedrin, after which both will be distributed across the homeland.
So, no ceremony in Russia?
What homeland? They were citizen of Lithuania and lived in historical Trakai after collapse of USSR.
A country where a person was born, raised, educated, and then worked for most of his/her adult life can certainly be called homeland.
