Martin Anderson mourns the love of his life
mainAt the Proms launch last night, I chatted briefly to Martin Anderson, founder of Toccata Press and Toccata Classics, and all-round enthusiast for interesting and important music.
Martin confided to me that Yodit, ‘the love of my life’, was dying in hospital of stomach cancer.
Yodit died at 2.15 this morning, aged 44. She is survived by Martin and their son Alex, 5.
Yodit and Martin met seven years ago at a concert in Cadogan Hall. They had planned to get married this spring, but the cancer was too quick.
Several composers are writing pieces in her memory.
May she rest in peace.
And may music bring comfort to Martin and Alex.
So very sorry to hear. If you should speak with Martin, please share my heartfelt sympathy. There are no words to explain such a loss, so young.
Have occasionally exchanged thoughts with Martin over AMS-L, over the past two decades. Heart and thoughts are with him as he processes this loss—wishing him comfort, serenity, and the eternal joy and merriment of his son.
Terrible news. I have dropped Martin a brief line of sympathy. I can only echo the above.
I am very disturbed by the sudden death of my lovely cute niece yodit. It is terrible sudden happend to lose our lovely sister.
Words are very inadequate to express the pain I am feeling. I pray to God to give Martin and all my niece and nephew courage to overcome this grief. May God bless you, and endow you with his love and care. . Stay strong
We very deeply sympathize with your great loss. But always remember that God needs the best and so he has chosen . Yodit was a wonderful human being. May sherest in peace.
