Conductor, 90, cancels concerts
mainHe’s one of the most reliable troopers on the circuit, a maestro who never lets you down.
But Sir Neville Marriner, 90, has been forced to pull out of a pair of San Diego dates next week with bronchitis.
We wish him better. He was in terrific form at Abbey Road four weeks ago.
He may be reliable, and he may be a trouper (note the correct spelling, please), and I certainly wish him a quick recovery and good health, but…..
He’s such a boring conductor!
But not so boring as a pedant!

How mean sprited is that, Greg, for a New Year’s Day and towards a conductor like Neville.
Surprising reaction to the news of a 90 years old musician of some merit being sick. Couldn’t you keep it for later, when he’s OK?
