That’s Mr. Acker Bilk to you, sir.
I loved “Strangers On the Shore” back when it was all over AM radio. It was so different than other pop hits of the time, and his playing – on an old style Albert system clarinet, I believe – was touching and beautiful, as was the tune.
I’ll always remember Mr. Acker Bilk (and it was always MR. Acker Bilk).
