The city of Duisburg’s prize doesn’t quite obviously live up to everybody’s standards, but
previous recipients include Yehudi Menuhin, Alfred Brendel , Hans Wener Henze, Krzysztof Penderecki and Dietrich Fischer Dieskau, to name just a few..
One of the fictional characters in the wonderful black comedy series ‘the league of gentlemen’ was from Duisburg. He was a school teacher.

I have no idea what your comment might mean. Is it a dig at The City of Duisburg Prize implying it is useless and self serving? If so it is just the latest in a long line of prizes that serve exactly the same purpose. Is it a dig at Nina Stemma, who although I have never had the pleasure to hear live I have enjoyed tremendously via CD and DVD? If so, I have to say “Shame on you”.
So, I guess I will stop reading your blog – it won’t be a loss for you but it will be for me.
