Rock star makes huge gift to orchestra… in Jerusalem
UncategorizedDetails are still sketchy, but it appears that Neil Y0ung has made ‘a very substantial donation’ to the Jerusalem Foundation, for the purpose of training an orchestra of Jewish and Arab children.
Mark Sofer, the Foundation’s president, said: ‘We’re very grateful to the artist Neil Young for his great generosity in giving to a Foundation that dedicates itself to reducing hatred between peoples – especially in these times when there is so much extremism on both sides.’

Great move. It’s the only path to hope hand reconciliation: bringing the children together and giving them the personal experience that not only coexistence but even peaceful and joyful collaboration is possible, if hatred, racial stereotypes and religious dogma are sidelined.
Neurological science talks about the age of 12, at which point a human’s brain is pretty much “set” for life, as far as his psychological and emotional foundations are concerned. So any initiative that tries to break the downward spiral of violence and hatred has the best chances at changing the status quo, when it is experienced by children.
Heart of gold.
