A pity she passed away a mere week before the Oscars. It would have been lovely to have seen/heard her reaction, unimportant as the Oscars were to her, a woman who had seen and lived through much. Cheers to the lady in no. 6!
Fantastic news! Alice’s extraordinary life, fueled by her love of and joy in music-making is finally receiving well deserved recognition. Hopefully this Oscar will mean that many more people will now come to know the inspirational story of this truly wonderful woman.
Can not agree more. Hopefully, too, more people will be inspired to explore the amazing world of classical music.
How wonderful. I hope that she knew this privately before her death.
Kind thought, but somehow I imagine it would take more to impress her than an Academy award.
I really want to see this film, wonder if Channel 4 or BBC might broadcast it?
